TVS Motor Company and BMW Motorrad are celebrating their 10-year partnership, which has been a great success in the motorcycle industry. The two companies joined forces in April 2013 to create sub-500cc motorcycles for customers all over the world. Since then, they have developed four popular models: BMW G 310 R, BMW 310 GS, BMW G310 RR, and TVS Apache RR 310. These motorcycles have sold over 140,000 units in various countries, including the EU, USA, Latin America, Japan, China, and India.

The partnership between TVS Motor Company and BMW Motorrad has been fruitful in many ways. They have worked together on product development, design, technology, and knowledge sharing. They have also collaborated on creating common platforms to meet the needs of their global customers. TVS Motor Company’s Hosur manufacturing plant produces about 10% of BMW Motorrad’s motorcycles worldwide. The BMW G 310 R, BMW 310 GS, and BMW G310 RR models are now available in more than 100 countries.

KN Radhakrishnan, the director and CEO of TVS Motor Company, expressed his satisfaction with the long-standing collaboration. He highlighted their shared values of innovation, quality, customer satisfaction, engineering excellence, and the production of globally desirable products. He mentioned the success of their iconic brands, such as TVS Apache RR 310, BMW G310 RR, BMW G 310 R, and BMW 310 GS. Radhakrishnan also revealed that they are exploring the possibility of expanding their manufacturing network beyond India to support future growth and the development of new technologies. He mentioned the recently unveiled BMW CE 02 as an example of their joint efforts in sustainable mobility solutions.

Dr. Markus Schramm, the Head of BMW Motorrad, also praised the partnership’s achievements. He described the collaboration as a remarkable success story that began 10 years ago. He emphasized the popularity of their single-cylinder models, BMW G 310 R and BMW G 310 GS, which have contributed significantly to BMW Motorrad’s global success. Schramm expressed their commitment to continue shaping the future together with TVS Motor Company, including the development of electric vehicles. He mentioned the BMW CE 02 electric two-wheeler, which is the second jointly developed platform after the 310cc bikes. Interestingly, the CE 02 platform was designed, developed, and built by TVS.

In December 2021, TVS Motor Company and BMW Motorrad announced an extension and expansion of their partnership. They will continue to collaborate on new platforms and future technologies, with a focus on electric vehicles. The BMW CE 02 is a prime example of their joint efforts in this direction. The partnership between these two companies has been a testament to their shared vision and commitment to delivering high-quality motorcycles to customers worldwide.
