Starting May 17th, people in India can book a new kind of electric motorcycle called Matter Aera. This bike is special because it has gears, which is a feature that no other electric bike in India has. You can book it online from Matter’s website or from the Flipkart online store.
The Matter Aera will be available for booking in 25 cities across India. The bike costs Rs 1.44 lakh (ex-showroom) for the 5000 variant and Rs 1.54 lakh (ex-showroom) for the higher-spec 5000+ variant.
The Aera bike has four gears that help it go from 0 to 60 kmph in just 6 seconds. Matter says that it will give you a good mileage of 25 paisa per km.
The bike comes in two variants – 5000 and 5000+. It has a 5kWh, liquid cooled battery pack that can take you up to 125 km. The motor produces 14 bhp of top power.
The Aera also has a 7 inch touchscreen that allows you to use navigation, music, and other connected features easily.
The prices announced include the FAME-II subsidy but not the exclusive state subsidies.
The company announced that Vicky Kaushal will represent their electric bike Aera with his face and personality.
The company is currently working on a brand campaign that will feature Vicky Kaushal. He will educate people about the product and its technologies in his own style. The campaign will be launched soon.
