KTM 390 Adventure X launched

KTM has rolled out the 390 Adventure X in India, which is an entry-level model compared to the 390 Adventure. Priced at Rs 2.80 lakh (ex-showroom), the X variant is much more affordable than the 390 Adventure, which costs Rs 3.38 lakh (ex-showroom). The reduction in price has been achieved by omitting features like cornering ABS, quickshifter, traction control, and the TFT-display with smartphone connectivity. However, the motorcycle retains its LED lighting, body, and motor. The 390 Adventure X is available in Orange and Dark Galvano colors.

According to Sumeet Narang, President of Pro-Biking, Bajaj Auto Ltd., “The segment of on/offroad, Adventure-oriented motorcycles is growing in India.” During FY23, KTM experienced a 60% surge in KTM Adventure customer participation in KTM Pro-XP, with more than 50% of participants being new customers. This indicates an expanding demand for Adventure motorcycling among consumers.

The motorcycle is equipped with a 390cc motor that produces 43.5bhp and 37Nm of torque. It uses a split trellis frame, dual-channel ABS with off-road mode, 320mm front and 230mm rear disc brakes, 43mm WP Apex USD fork, rear monoshock, 200mm of ground clearance, and an LCD display.

The KTM 390 Adventure X competes with the BMW G 310 GS and the Royal Enfield Himalayan. While the BMW is more expensive, the Himalayan is cheaper and belongs to a lower power bracket.
