Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has launched the Dio H-Smart scooter in the domestic market. The company has listed the prices on its official website, with the scooter priced at Rs. 77,712 (ex-showroom). The Dio H-Smart comes with keyless functionality and advanced features such as SmartFind, SmartUnlock, SmartSafe, and SmartStart, which allows the rider to locate, unlock, lock, and start the scooter with ease. The scooter is powered by a 109cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that has been updated to meet BSVI stage 2 emission norms. It produces a maximum power of 7.8 bhp and peak torque of 9 Nm, paired with CVT.
The Honda Dio H-Smart is equipped with a new Honda Smart Key that can perform functions such as Smart Find, Smart Unlock, SmartStart, and SmartSafe. The engine start/stop switch operates in two directions, with downward pressing starting the engine and upward pressing functioning as an engine kill switch. Additionally, the H-Smart variant features a Lock Mod that enables a 5-in-1 function without requiring a physical key. The smart key assists in easily locating the vehicle.
The standard and DLX variants of the Dio have also received a price hike due to the updates involved in making the engine meet BSVI stage 2 emission norms. The base price of the Dio is now Rs. 70,211, and the DLX variant costs Rs. 74,212 (ex-showroom). The Honda Dio H-Smart sits at the top of the range and follows the launch of the Activa H-Smart in 110 cc and 125 cc iterations. While the official specifications of the Dio H-Smart are not yet known, it could feature alloy wheels to make the scooter lighter.
The new Honda Dio H-Smart is expected to compete with other keyless feature-equipped scooters in the market. The scooter is likely to appeal to tech-savvy riders who value convenience and advanced features. With the launch of the Dio H-Smart, Honda aims to strengthen its position in the Indian scooter market.
