Harley-Davidson X440 roadster bookings open

By Biketoq Editor

Harley-Davidson is bringing some exciting news for motorcycle enthusiasts in India! They have officially started accepting orders for their latest model, the X440 roadster. If you’re eager to get your hands on this beauty, all you need to do is pay a token amount of Rs 25,000 to book your spot. The prices for the X440 will be revealed on July 3, 2023.

Now, here’s the lowdown on the X440 roadster. This bad boy is the result of a collaboration between Harley-Davidson and India’s Hero MotoCorp. Hero MotoCorp will be taking care of the production, distribution, sales, and after-sales services operations, while Harley-Davidson handles the design and development.

So, what can you expect from the X440? Well, it’s a mid-capacity bike that sports a cool neo-retro look. Picture this: a circular LED headlamp, a sleek single-pod instrument console, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, and a comfortable single-piece seat. And that’s not all! This beast is also equipped with a flat handlebar, forward-set footpegs, and a stylish single side-mounted exhaust.

Under the hood, the X440 packs a punch with its 440cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine. While we don’t have all the juicy details about the motor just yet, we can definitely expect it to outshine the Royal Enfield Classic 350. It even boasts a chain final drive, similar to the mighty Pan America.

When it comes to the chassis, the X440 is built on a sturdy tubular frame. It rides smoothly on alloy wheels with 18-inch rims in the front and 17-inch at the rear. Braking is no issue either, thanks to the discs supported by dual-channel ABS. The front end is equipped with upside-down forks, while the rear features twin shock absorbers.

Now, let’s talk about the deal between Harley and Hero. The X440 roadster will be the first product to hit the market as part of their collaboration. While Harley took care of the design and development, Hero MotoCorp will handle the nitty-gritty aspects like production, distribution, sales, and after-sales services. Unofficial bookings are now open at dealerships, so if you’re ready to make this beast yours, you can secure your X440 by paying an advance of Rs 25,000.

When it comes to styling, the X440 oozes retro vibes. The circular headlamp, turn indicators, and rear-view mirrors all scream classic coolness. The headlamp even features LED lights, accompanied by a sleek LED DRL placed across the center. The turn indicators proudly display the iconic Harley logo. The instrument pod is expected to have a circular design with a digital screen. Other eye-catching features include a conical fuel tank adorned with Harley and X440 badges, minimal body panels, a distinctive copper-colored exhaust pipe, and side-mounted grab rails. And let’s not forget the wide range of color options the X440 is expected to offer. To add a touch of dominance, various parts of the bike are blacked out, such as the headlamp cowl, engine assembly, engine guard, rear shock absorbers, and exhaust muffler. The alloy wheels also sport a stylish dual-tone finish of black and brushed metal. All in all, the Harley Davidson X440 exudes a modest yet undeniably captivating profile without going overboard.

Now, here’s the exciting part. The much-anticipated launch of the Harley Davidson X440 is slated for early July. As for the price, it’s estimated to fall within the range of Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 3 lakh
