Bajaj Pulsar 220F is back; bookings open

Bajaj Auto has reopened bookings for the Pulsar 220F, the popular bike model in India. The company will be pricing the 2023 edition of the bike at Rs 1,39,686 (ex-showroom) and it is now open for bookings.

The semi-faired look of the Pulsar 220F will remain unchanged, with no significant modifications expected. It comes with a projector headlamp, semi-digital instrument console, split seat, alloy wheels and an upswept exhaust. The bike will be powered by the same 220cc BS6-compliant engine as before, which develops 20.6 BHP @ 8,500 rpm and 18.5 Nm @ 7,000 rpm. However, the company will need to add OBD2 for onboard diagnostics.

The 220F was discontinued last year after the launch of the next-gen Pulsar range. It is now positioned between the NS160 and the NS200 in Bajaj’s Pulsar lineup.

Despite the fact that the Pulsar 220F’s underpinnings are over sixteen years old, the model remains hugely popular, and Bajaj’s decision to reintroduce it to the market demonstrates this. The new bike is now OBD-2 compliant but is mechanically identical to the BS6 model that was previously sold.

According to dealer sources, the delivery of the 2023 Pulsar 220F is expected to begin at the end of this month, and it will be available in a Carbon edition, similar to the Pulsar 125. The on-road price of the 2023 model currently ranges from Rs 1.7 lakh-Rs 1.75 lakh, which is approximately Rs 5,000-7,000 more expensive than the price of the 220F when it was previously available in 2022. The price of the Pulsar F250 (single-channel ABS variant) is currently Rs 1.4 lakh, which puts the 2023 Pulsar 220F almost on par with its more modern successor.
