Bajaj Auto has launched the 2023 Chetak Premium electric scooter in India with an updated model featuring three new colours and an all-metal body. The base variant has been priced from Rs 1.21 lakh while the Premium Edition has been priced at Rs 1.51 lakh, both ex-showroom in Bengaluru. Bookings for the Premium Edition have already started and deliveries will begin in April.
The 2023 Chetak Premium Edition comes with a larger coloured LCD display and body-coloured rear view mirrors, a dual-tone seat, black grab rail, and matching pillion footrest castings. Its headlamp casing, central trim elements, and blinkers are all in Charcoal Black.
Powered by a 3.8kW/4.1kW electric motor and lithium-ion battery pack, the Chetak can travel up to 108km on a single charge, which is a 20% improvement over the previous version. It will be available at over 60 Bajaj dealerships across India, and the company aims to expand its network to 100 outlets across 85 cities by the end of March 2023. Bajaj also plans to open more than 40 exclusive Experience Centres and double its service centres, with production of the Chetak increasing to over 10,000 units per month.
The Chetak e-scooter features a single front spring and rear monoshock, and braking hardware includes a single front disc and rear drum brake with CBS. It rides on 12-inch alloys wrapped in road-biased rubber.
The Chetak also boasts LED illumination, a digital console with smartphone connectivity, a speedometer, odometer, trip meter, two riding modes (sport and eco), DTE readout, and access to parameters such as the scooter’s location, routes taken, riding score, and top speed.
The Chetak Premium has been launched in India to cater to the growing demand for electric scooters, and Bajaj is aiming to strengthen its presence in the market with its expanded network of dealerships and service centres.
