Electric scooter maker Ather Energy is on a roll! The Bangalore-based company sold over 12,000 units in January 2023, a whopping 329% growth YoY. And to top it off, Ather hit a production milestone, rolling out its 100,000th scooter.
In January, Ather celebrated its first-ever Community Day and showed off its latest software update, AtherStack 5.0, along with new colors for the 450X range. The update brings a fresh look to the scooter’s touchscreen display and makes it easier to set up rides with Bluetooth connections and navigation.
Ather’s expansion continues, with 13 new experience centers added across cities like Erode, Ahmedabad, Hosur, and Guntur, bringing the total to 102 centers in 80 cities across India. The company is committed to creating a sustainable future through innovative products and has made impressive strides since its launch.
Production has ramped up over the years, taking 35 months for the first 10,000 units, 5 months for the next 20,000 units, and 3 months for the next 10,000 units. And now, just 6 months later, Ather has produced another 50,000 units.
With plans to expand sales and product offerings, including exports, Ather is poised for even more growth in the next 2-3 years. The company aims to have 350 experience centers across 250 cities and towns, and its Ather Grid charging infrastructure will be expanded to 1,400 locations.
