Simple Energy, a Bangalore-based electric vehicle start-up, has announced that it has started rolling out its Simple One electric scooter from its facility in Shoolagiri, Tamil Nadu. The company has also announced that it is preparing to deliver the flagship product to customers, although the delivery date is yet to be announced.
The Simple One electric scooter was first displayed as a prototype model in 2021, featuring a 4.8kWh battery pack and a 4.5kW motor. Simple Energy later added a third battery pack option for additional range, giving the scooter an impressive claimed range of 300km.
The prototype model came with full-LED lighting, a Bluetooth and Wi-Fi-enabled colour TFT display, and four riding modes. It also featured telescopic front forks, a rear monoshock, disc brakes on both ends, and 12-inch alloys shod in 90/90 front and rear tyres. The final version of the scooter is expected to retain all of these features.
Simple Energy had previously announced an ex-showroom, Bengaluru price of Rs. 1.10 lakh for the electric scooter. However, the final prices may vary at the launch, which is scheduled for 23 May, 2023. Electric vehicle enthusiasts are eagerly waiting for the launch of Simple One, which is expected to be a game-changer in the Indian EV market.
